Overview of City

AGING AND DISABILITIES

The Commission on Aging and Disabilities shall serve in an advisory capacity to the city council and city manager, and shall make recommendations to the city council and the city manager with respect to identifying and promoting the needs of the senior and disabled community within the city.


REQUIREMENTS:

1.
Residency: According to Section 2.24.030 of the El Cajon Municipal Code, applicants must be a resident of the City for not less than one year prior to appointment and continue to reside in the City during the term of office.
2. Appointee must be at least 19 years and the age of two of the members of the commission shall be not less than 55 years of age at the time of appointment.


NOMINATION AND APPOINTMENT: Section 2.24.110 of the El Cajon Municipal Code specifies the composition of the Commission. Members are appointed the Mayor with concurrence by City Council.
