The El Cajon City Council also sits as the Housing Authority. City Council/Housing Authority Meetings are held the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the Month at 3:00 p.m. (General Discussion Items) and 7:00 p.m. (Public Hearing Items). The dates of meetings in November and December may vary, due to holiday observances.
Within the State's Fiscal Year 2012-13 budget, there is a provision that may have the effect of suspending portions of the Brown Act, which governs open meetings for local government bodies. The City of El Cajon will continue its practice of fully complying with the Brown Act as contained in section 54950 et seq. of the California Government Code.
The Mayor and City Council Members are elected officers identified in Government Code Section 87200 and file statements of economic interests with the City Clerk’s office. Copies of the statements of economic interests filed by the above elected officers may be obtained by visiting the offices of the Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) of the City Clerk.
