WELCOME TO THE BUILDING AND FIRE SAFETY DIVISION
 The Building and Fire Safety Division is dedicated to improving the quality of life and assuring the interests of life, health and safety in the City of El Cajon. The Division accomplishes their goals through the implementation of codes and standards as they relate to construction, fire and life safety and property maintenance. It is our goal to serve the residents of El Cajon with the highest level of professionalism, proficiency and customer service in the industry.
The Building and Fire Safety Division provides services to the community through plan check and inspection of new buildings and structures, plan check and inspection of fire safety and protection systems, inspection of hazardous and high risk occupancies, permitting and inspection of mobile home installations, inspection of substandard properties, graffiti eradication, and citizen complaints.
