As the Fire chief, I want to take this opportunity to welcome you and thank you for taking the time to get to know us.
I am privileged to lead a fire service organization comprised of such committed and skilled members. The men and women of Heartland Fire & Rescue are unwavering in their commitment to protect the lives and properties of their citizens and communities.
Our Vision Statement is:
"We will selflessly strive to serve the needs of our communities through collaboration, innovation, and personal accountability while embracing change and planning for the future."
On January 1, 2010, the cities of El Cajon, La Mesa, and Lemon Grove embarked upon a unique cooperative services agreement. With the goal of combining fire and emergency medical services to maximize resource use and create cost containment, we strive to accomplish this an continue to provide the three Cities with the very high level of service they are accustomed to. This unique cooperative fire services agreement provides cost containment opportunities, maintains local control, ensures a high level of fire and emergency medical services delivery, and maximizes resource utilization.
